Boxing Day

Another day of scrumptious food, drink and time with family/friends!  Oh, and the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, multiple times!!

Christmas at Laurie and Matt's

After our morning of stockings, breakfast and gifts, Talia had a nap then we loaded up the car and relocated to Laurie and Matt's for the Christmas celebrations!  Dan and Carol were there, along with Graham and Ann (Matt's brother and sister) and Laurie's good friend Wendy from St Louis.  We had a lovely meal and fun with the gifts.

Christmas Eve with Auntie Deb and Uncle Roy

Debbie and Roy came over for a mug of hot buttered rum and to give the kids some gifts....Talia had such a great time opening her stuff, Max still isn't very much into clothes as gifts although he does think his shirt is pretty cool.  Talia got a beautiful poncho.

Max is disillusioned with Santa

Jodie took Max, Talia and Amy (their next door neighbour) to see Santa on Wednesday.  Max didn't have any problems sitting on Santa's lap and telling him what he wanted for Christmas, what he didn't understand was why he only got a puzzle when he nicely asked for a PowerRanger toy!  B.D. tried to explain that they both start with P, but Max wasn't buying it.  Hopefully he believed us when we explained that Santa didn't have all of the toys in the world right there with him, but that he needed to have the elves make it for him for Christmas.  Now we're just hoping Santa got the right one because we have a funny feeling we'll hear about it if not!

Address

With the changes in B.D.'s work, can everyone please send post (ie. envelopes) to our home address, but anything larger than a standard envelope please post to Michelle's work, address below.
Also, the customs folks have really tightened up on postal boxes... we've recently ended up paying additional custom charges on the last few boxes that have come through.  And we know everything you all are generously sending us is really expensive, so in order to avoid the additional costs we have been regularly adding items to our Amazon wish list, that's probably the cheapest way to send gifts to us and the kids.
Thank you all for your wonderful love, thoughts and gifts.
Merry Christmas!!

The Saturday Before Christmas, My True Love and I......

took down our Charlie Brown Christmas tree, spent nearly an hour sweeping up needles throughout the house, returned to HomeBase and negotiated a replacement tree for £7, brought it home, redecorated, and are NOW ready for Christmas.  Enjoy the before and after....pictures of the new tree will follow!

Talia's Christmas Party

Talia's nursery put on a fantastic Christmas party for the nursery kids complete with a visit by Papa Noel, a magician (which I don't think the kids really got), snack boxes, and Music with Martin.  Talia and Mama had a lovely time and felt truly in the Christmas spirit afterwards!

Max's 4th Birthday

Tuesday our little man turned 4...and in Sloan tradition, we woke him with a roaring version of Happy Birthday, a yummy blueberry muffin topped with a dinosaur candle, and a couple of gifts.  Max loved everyone waking him and hanging out in his room while he opened gifts...and Talia just wanted to blow out the candle on Max's muffin a second, third and fourth time.
Max got a story book, a sticker book, and some Incredible Hulk boxing gloves that talk and growl when hit hard enough.
