James's 3rd birthday

  

To celebrate James's 3rd birthday (Maxine's son), we went to the Dudley Zoo and Castle.  B.D. and I hadn't been there since our first visit a few months after arriving in England.  Although it was cold, we had a fun time.  The kids got to pet a couple of animals and learned the Guinea Pig did not get its name from the place of its origin, instead it's because they used to be sold for a guinea.  Who knew?

We took B.D.'s new car for a drive to Cannock to visit our good friend Matthew and his three boys: Joe, Jonty and Oscar.  Oscar and Talia were instant friends and Talia spent the entire day following Oscar around, or Oscar would lead her around the house to show her things.  He even pushed the pram when we went for a walk!  Max had a blast playing with Joe and Jonty's toys, especially their really cool lasers, swords and other 'boy toys'.
After lunch we went for a walk on the Cannock Chase and hit the playground.
