Cadbury World park

Saturday afternoon was spent exploring the outoor play area at Cadbury World...followed by a troll through the shop for chocolate!!

Playing at Papa's office

B.D. had some work to do Saturday morning, so we all decided to join him. Luckily there are so many fun things to explore that we actually left Papa alone the entire time....he made money and we had fun! What a great way to start the weekend.
**Note, Max has started walking around with a pen or pencil behind his ear. I told him I had to take a picture to show his Grandpa and Tio Dan as Max thinks this is what builders do!

Lickey Hills

Obviously the goal this weekend was to be outside as much as possible enjoying the beautiful sunshine, and wear out the kiddos as much as possible! So Sunday afternoon we drove 15 minutes to the Lickey Hills for awalk in the forest and a play in the park. Max and B.D. climbed the hill, Talia had a long walk, and Max went on his first zip line in the park.

Sunday morning at the local park

Max, Talia and I entertained ourselves while B.D. went boxing by trekking over to the local park. Max did a great job on his bike which still has the training wheels on it. We got to the park, had a play for about half an hour before tragedy struck. Max's favorite activity at all parks right now is the fireman pole - he loves to climb up and slide down. The pole at our local park has been replaced with a rope, which B.D. tells me is actually for climbing rather than sliding. I didn't know any better so told Max he could slide down it. Bad Mama - Max slide down and is gave him a rope burn and pulled off a bit of his skin. I bet if it had drawn blood it would not have hurt so much, but that just-below-the-surface type of cut really stings, so Max said he wanted to go home (after asking me to lick his hand, which I authoritatively told him would not help). Luckily his crying on his bike scared away the Canadian Geese, which most people know I am quite afraid of! Once home the wound was washed and dressed with a Diego bandage, Max was fine and ready for his next adventure.

Saturday afternoon at Canon Hill Park

We spent Saturday afternoon as a family exploring Canon Hill Park, a park just a few miles from our house, which was really fun. It seems strange that after 7 years in the country we had never been there especially as the park is connected to the Nature Centre which we've been to loads of times. The kids loved the climbing frame and Max enjoyed the bouncy castle!

Shots of the Red Panda...and more!!

Nature Centre with Harninder

Even though she is 38 weeks pregnant, Harninder brought her three kiddos into Birmingham to meet us at the Nature Centre for a couple hours of play. We were there early enough to see almost all of the animals including the Red Panda and the otters being fed. We had a great time catching up, and all of the kids really enjoyed running around and playing together. Harninder's kids are (from oldest to youngest) Mehtaab, Muskeen and Prehlaad.

Max's first day of school

We can hardly believe it, but Max has started school! Okay, he is still technically in 'nursery', in the Pre-Prep house at Blue Coat. This year a uniform is optional, so we've opted to wait. But he does have special shoes he has to wear, in addition to a school track suit and black shoes for gym, and an overall for lunchtime.
Max loved his first day and was so excited he had a difficult time sleeping that night as he was so excited to go back the next day! Bless, who could ask for anything better than that??

Talia's Birthday

Our little girl celebrated her first birthday in Spain, and thoroughly enjoyed her cake (unlike her brother on his first birthday)! Topi and Antonia joined us for lunch, and lead a round of Happy Birthday in Spanish!
